End-Of-Year Giving
Through the end of 2022, Townspeople focused on raising funds for our Emergency Housing Program. Thanks to everyone who supported our campaign directly and through purchases of Fish the Fox, we were able to raise over $4500 to support individuals and families in need of safe, dignified emergency housing!

TOWNSPEOPLE X KLUIA.CO: FUNDRAISING FOR EMERGENCY HOUSING
San Diego-based illustrator Karen Alleluia hosted a fundraiser from November 24–December 9, 2022 in support of Townspeople’s Emergency Housing Program! Taking place over Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, and Giving Tuesday, the campaign centered on the Fish the Fox plush, a cuddly limited edition fox designed by Karen that was available for purchase from her online shop kluia.co.
We’re grateful for the chance to collaborate with Karen, whose journey to becoming a thriving graphic designer, illustrator, and entrepreneur included overcoming homelessness. Knowing firsthand that self-sufficiency and a bright quality of life are possible with access to housing and the support of a compassionate community, Karen graciously donated 50% of all Fish the Fox plush proceeds between November 24 and 9 p.m. on December 9, 2022 to Townspeople’s Emergency Housing program, a gift that amounted to $300.
We appreciate Karen’s journey, work, and generosity! Please help more San Diegans in need of temporary housing with a donation of at least $25 today.
