#WeAllCount Point-in-Time Count 2023

The #WeAllCount Point-in-Time Count (PITC) is a federally mandated requirement designated by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Historically, San Diego conducts the count on an annual basis with the mission to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring. Coordinated by The Regional Task Force on Homelessness San Diego (RTFH), the annual census provides critical data on the needs of people experiencing homelessness in our community, increases awareness of homelessness in our region, and helps bring federal funding to San Diego to help end homelessness.

Townspeople was proud to once again participate in 2023 alongside organizations serving unhoused youth, adults, and families across San Diego County. We also appreciate everyone who supported this year’s effort, especially those who volunteered as counters in the early morning hours of January 26.

For a basic understanding of the #WeAllCount PITC, watch this brief video featuring Kat Durant, Chief Program Officer for RTFH.

It’s our daily mission to help San Diegans without homes get access to safe housing and supportive services, especially those who live with HIV or AIDS. Learn more about our 2023 projects and efforts by signing up for our newsletter today.
